Willian ‘would like to work with Mourinho again’ but insist he is ‘happy at Chelsea’

Willian admits he would like to work with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho again in the future but says he is still fully committed to Chelsea.

Willian played under Mourinho during the manager’s second spell at Stamford Bridge.

He credits the 55-year-old’s quality as a manager for him winning his first Premier League winnersmedal in 2015.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Willian said: ‘Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends.

‘Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.’

Rumours have circulated over the summer about the possibility of Mourinho wanting to bring Willian to Old Trafford.

Willian has previously suggested that United made an approach for him last summer.

This summer, however, Willian says he is not aware of any further interest from United.

He said: ‘I don’t know if there was any official bid [from Manchester United] , but some things have happened.

‘Also, everything comes out on the internet, too. But Mourinho talks to my agent all the time, he says ‘bring him, bring him’.

Asked whether Mourinho has called him directly, Willian added: ‘No, he has never called me, but he always sends me text messages.

‘But I am very happy at Chelsea, I want to stay in the club. I also like living in London, it is an amazing city, and my family is well adapted. So yeah, I intend to stay at Chelsea.’
