Swansea’s Andre Ayew arrives in Istanbul for medical as he closes in on Fenerbahce loan

Swansea attacker Andre Ayew has arrived in Istanbul as he puts the finishing touches on his loan move to Fenerbahce.

The Ghana international has agreed a season-long loan switch to the Turkish club but must first undergo a medical before he can officially be presented as a Fenerbahce player, as reported by Ghana Web.

Wearing a white baseball cap and a white shirt, Ayew seemed relaxed as he landed in Istanbul. He also posted a picture of himself wearing a Fenerbahce shirt while undergoing his medical.

Ayew returned to Swansea in January as he joined from West Ham for an initial fee of £18million.

However, he failed to score in 12 Premier League appearances and was unable to prevent the club from being relegated to the Championship.

Ayew’s initial spell at The Liberty Stadium, in the 2015/16 campaign, was considerably more successful as he scored 12 goals in 35 games across all competitions.

The 28-year-old, who can play as a striker, an attacking midfielder or on either flank, joins a Fenerbahce team which finished second in the league last season, three points adrift of champions Galatasaray.
