AC Milan are close to offloading Andre Silva on a season-long loan to Sevilla, yet Pablo Machin is hopeful of a further forward arrival before the transfer window closes.
The former Porto goal-scorer cost the Rossoneri 38 million euros in the summer of 2017, however the emergence of Patrick Cutrone has left the Portuguese international with minimal opportunities.
Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival has meant that Gennaro Gattuso has needed to trim his attacking options, and Silva is set to sign for the Andalusian club, although it isn’t clear if there is a purchase option embedded into the agreement.
Michy Batshuayi enjoyed a phenomenal spell with Borussia Dortmund after joining on loan in January, and Sevilla consider the Belgian as an option to further bolster their squad.
Machin was quick to make clear that he retains hope that another signing will follow Silva following Thursday’s match against Zalgiris Vilnius.
“I hope so,” he explained.
“Especially if they are a player who will bring us both quality and different options, I’d be delighted.
“The profile that is missing is a natural finisher, we’re looking for that and there is no doubt that it will come, however we don’t know if it will be one player or several.”
