If his latest social media post is anything to go by, Loris Karius certainly doesn’t seem to be over the moon at the prospect of joining Besiktas from Liverpool.
The goalkeeper, who completed his two-year loans switch to the Turkish Super Lig side over the weekend, cut a dejected figure in a selfie posted on his Instagram story from Istanbul – where Besiktas are based.
Staring at the camera with a glum expression on his face, even the sunny weather in the Turkish capital failed to raise a smile from the 25-year-old German.
Karius was given a warm welcome by fans at Istanbul airport on Saturday night after he officially left Liverpool to join the Turkish side.
He underwent his medical at his new club on Sunday before watching his new team-mates lose 3-2 to Antalyaspor.
After making two costly errors in the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid in May, Karius has been replaced as Liverpool’s No 1 by Brazil international Alisson.
He featured 49 times for the Reds following his 2016 move from Mainz.
Karius could move his debut for his new club in Sunday’s trip to Bursaspor.
