As Thibaut Courtois moves closer to Real Madrid, Chelsea are lining up potential replacements and have turned to Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
The Blues have been unwilling to lose the Belgian this summer until they have secured a replacement for him.
According to a report in English newspaper The Telegraph, Sergio Rico is among the players who they are pondering a move for before the transfer window closes.
It is also claimed that their main target remains Stoke City’s Jack Butland.
The interest in Sevilla’s number one comes directly through their goalkeeping coach, Christophe Lollichon.
On the player’s future at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Joaquin Caparros admitted he was not untouchable.
“Sergio is here and he will have to fight but if something interesting comes up, then the club will look at it,” the sporting director said.
