Bayern midfielder Arturo Vidal has verbal agreement to join Barcelona

Arturo Vidal could become a Barcelona player as soon as this week. The club have reached a verbal agreement with the Chilean international as they wait to see what happens with Adrien Rabiot. Barça have moved quickly to secure one of the biggest names available on the market. The midfielder, who has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

MARCA understand that Barcelona and Vidal’s party have agreed personal terms, as initially reported by RAC1, though the two clubs are yet to settle on a fee for the transfer.

The sporting department at Barcelona have been in contact with Vidal for over a week now and have reached an agreement regarding the player’s salary. In the last few hours the two clubs have agreed a fee which is said to be around €30m. All of this is dependent on the Rabiot deal. If the Frenchman manages to leave PSG and begins negotiations with Barça, the club will reject the chance to sign Vidal.

Vidal could travel in the next few hours to Barcelona to undergo a medical. The Chilean international, who is 31 years old, has been on Barça’s radar for a while now. In fact the club were tempted to make a move for him last summer but decided to sign Paulinho instead. Following the Brazilian’s return to Chinese football, Vidal’s name has appeared on the list again and could finally be set to join Barcelona.
