Valverde making use of entire squad
Barcelona’s squad is delighted with the planning of their new coach Ernesto Valverde.
Jordi Alba even said it loud and clear at the end of the game against Girona.
“Valverde is managing the squad to perfection, we are all playing,” he enthused.
The Txingurri has no starting eleven and wants everyone to feel important which, for the moment, he’s managing.
His great achievement has been to get the maximum out of each of his players and he has recovered the best versions of Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic.
Even those who play less are stepping up to the plate when they have their moment.
They know that opportunities will arise and so are giving absolutely everything on the pitch.
Denis Suarez, Paulinho, Aleix Vidal, Gerard Deulofeu and Javier Mascherano have all been important in the last few LaLiga matchdays, whether in the starting XI or from the bench.
Valverde counts on them, and they know it, and if something differentiates Barcelona this season with the previous one it is the depth that the squad now has.
As seen at Getafe, the changes can turn the game around.
The least used
Even so, there are still some players who are not in Valverde’s plans.
Arda Turan and Thomas Vermaelen are completely out of the picture, while others like Andre Gomes or Paco Alcacer haven’t really been given a chance as yet.
These are joined by the injured Rafinha, who will have to see what role he has when he returns.
